The Coronavirus pandemic has revealed the strengths and weaknesses of our social, political and economic systems, be it how much freedom a society is willing to give up temporarily for the sake of collective (as well as individual) safety; the state of play of digitalization in various areas of life, such as education or work; or the value of local economies in digitally networked times. We can no longer tiptoe around the sensitivities of people who are enamored with the past by pushing aside fundamental questions about the future.
